A Raspberry Pi powered Bar-top Arcade Machine
The design was based on this instructable project. Instead of using MDF, I used plywood. This makes the unit much lighter than MDF. I also find plywood much easier to work with as screws actually stay in it, it doesn’t need glue, and it’s not as dusty. The dimensions of the panels are approximately the same as the instructable guide.
It is powered by a Raspberry Pi 3 and is running the RetroPie OS. I have loaded many classic games from the ’80s and ’90s originally from the Atari 2600, arcade machines, and Super Nintendo consoles. The screen is an old 17″ LCD monitor I had. It has been mounted upside down so that the control panel buttons and speakers are hidden under the marquee overhang.
The marquee art sticker at the top is from this site. The ghetto-style Space Invaders on the side of the case are spray-painted using a stencil.
